We are exhibiting at this extremely busy 2 day event at the Business Design Centre, Islington, London, and need people to help on our stand. AM, PM or full day slots available. You must be a natural talker with a great smile, enjoy meeting and engaging with people. Full training provided. Please email Kevin Cusack with your details.

Looking for work experience within a Charity?

Interns  - 3 or 6 months placements
We are looking for a range of skilled people:

  • Media specialists, web developers, audio, Podcasts, RSS etc
  • Sales and Marketing expert
  • Business Development specialist
  • Database design and administration
  • Advertising and promotion
  • Fundraiser
  • Trainers and Facilitators (consultancy work)
  • Career Advisers and Coaches (consultancy work)

You must be a confident multi-tasker able to think outside of the box and be resourceful. Sensitive and culturally aware. Fully conversant with common programmes such as Microsoft Office and such programmes as Access, Adobe CS2, Dreamweaver etc.

In return we will offer full support and training and will cover your travel cost (greater London) and provide a lunch allowance. PA – to provide office support and to be responsible for answering and screening telephone calls in a professional manner. To help with all other admin tasks including incoming mail and outgoing mailings, data input into the database, dealing with office supplies, managing office IT, development of and writing up of back-up office manuals and protocols etc. A varied role that requires an organised and confident, multi-tasker.

Skills and Qualifications:
Essential:
• Willing, intelligent, confident, a self starter.

• Excellent customer service skills, communication and team skills.
• An excellent command of verbal and written English.
• A sense of humour.
• The ability to commit to and take responsibility for own work.

Desirable:
• Business background.
• An interest in International Development.

Notes on volunteering for WSE
We ask for a minimum commitment of one day per week for three months for general volunteering. More days may be possible.

We provide a luncheon allowance valued at £3.50 per day if working five or more hours in that day, and refund off-peak travel card expenses (maximum £10 per day) against a receipt/ticket.

Some of the work available is suitable for volunteers to carry out from home.

We regret that we are unable to assist non-UK residents who are planning to volunteer during a short stay in the UK with visa applications, finding accommodation etc. UK based voluntary work placements are not sufficient grounds to meet visa or work permit regulations.

WSE will require two references (verbal or written) and a copy of your current passport.
